School Social Work Services

The purpose of the School Social Work department is to enhance local school districts' ability to meet their academic mission where home, school and community collaboration is the key to achieving that mission (School Social Work Association of America).

School social workers collaborate with students, schools and families by assisting them to accomplish tasks associated with their learning and individual growth. Services are provided to students who are "at-risk" and who are receiving special education. School social workers design and provide a variety of services based on district/school, family and student needs.

AEA school social workers can be contacted through the Northwest Area Education Agency or a school administrator.
